About this website

This page summarizes the internal design of this website and lists the people that were involved in creating it.

The information presented on this site (mainly, the Research and People pages) is managed with Protégé ontology editor:

Using Protégé, a knowledge database was created, containing information about people, research projects, techniques, labs, research fields and subjects, etc, and their mutual relationships. Its graphical interface allows maintaining all the cross-linking information (as for example list of projects a person is involved in and list of people involved in a project) in a quick and easy way. This information is stored in an XML database.

To present the information in XML database on the website, XSL transformations are used. XSLT are done on the server side, using the Apache module mod-xslt2.

• Oleg Mirzov. Developed the concept of the current (year 2008) version of the website. Created the knowledge database, XSLT stylesheets and the structure of the website, converted older versions of the pages to XML format.
• Han-Kwang Nienhuys. Created the look by adapting LU style, wrote CSS stylesheets and the previous (Perl-based) version of the website.
• Pär Kjellberg. Wrote and maintained some of the pages.
• All the Department members. Contributed by discussing the concept and structure, writing and providing the content for the research pages.
