Shraddha Rao

Research Interest

Shraddha Rao is an experimental physicist in the field of applied optics. She did her PhD (2013-2016) at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, in Prof. Daniele Faccio's Extreme Light group, where she worked on building interferometers to observe coherent linear and nonlinear optical interactions (phase-conjugation and negative refraction) in graphene multilayers and developed a phase-contrast imaging technique. This was followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Indian Institute of Technology - Bombay in Mumbai with Dr. Parinda Vasa, working on topics of nano-photonics, including setting up spectroscopy experiments to investigate resonant transmission through metal nanogaps.
Her research interests lie in building optical arrangements for light matter interactions in different regimes and also in exploring different optical materials at the nanoscale.
