Xray Safety
Work with x-rays in Chemical Physics.
Welcome to the division of chemical Physics.
We have 4 different sources of x-radiation in the division.
- A set of small Fe55 calibration sources (see SOP Fe55)
- A small micro x-ray tube (see SOP micro)
- A laser plasma X-ray source (currently not operational)
- A table-top EXAFS machine from easyXAFS
In general only the easyXAFS machine (4) will be accessible for guests.
For working with any of these sources a special training and registration is needed. This training and registration contains:
- Take the course: "Ionizing radiation safety course" on Kompetenzportalen
(you can try this link) https://luvit.education.lu.se/Kompetensportalen/education/main.aspx?courseid=19856
save the certificate as pdf and rename it to (replace My_full_name with your name!): "Ionizing_radiation_course_certificate_My full name.pdf" Send this pdf in an email with the context line (again replace with your name) "Ionizing_radiation_course_certificate_My full name" to jens.uhlig@chemphys.lu.se - speak with Jens to plan you work and get a local instruction
- get registered for each work period (key check out and check in)
